King of the Hammers, the event that brings a crowd upward of 35,000 people from all over the globe. It wasn’t always that way though. The first King of The Hammers happened back in 2007 when off road drivers Dave Cole a rock crawler champion and Jeff Knoll specializing in Desert Race invited 12 of their friends to Johnson Valley. These racers would be collectively known as the OG13. The prize for the very first KOH? A case of beer. Since then the race has evolved to more than 300 teams and is now known as the toughest one-day off-road race on the planet will test who truly is Hammers Proven™. Race starts on January 30th and ends on February 6th.

WHAT IT IS: A beadlock wheel is different from a normal wheel in that it relies on clamping force generated by the tightening of a set of bolts that thread into the wheel and apply force to the beadlock ring which mechanically clamps and seals the tire’s outer bead to the wheel.
WHY IT’S HAMMER PROVEN: The main advantage of a beadlock wheel over a standard wheel is that the seal between the tire and wheel is maintained independent of inflation pressure. This is beneficial where lower inflation pressures are used to improve traction by enlarging the tire contact patch on loose surfaces and reducing ride harshness felt while traveling on rough terrain by reducing the effective spring rate of the tire.
