Method Race Wheels Join BFGoodrich Team Rennsport For 2017 NORRA Mexican 1000
LONG BEACH, CALIF. (April 19, 2017) - With preparations for a return to Baja racing after a 24-year absence, BFGoodrich Team Rennsport has announced new partnerships with two of the automotive aftermarket's top brands.
The team's newly-prepared vintage cars will now feature ultra-strong Method Race Wheels to complement equally tough BFGoodrich tires. Proven in the top-levels of off-road motorsports racing, Method Race Wheels designs, develops and distributes high performance wheels and accessories for race and street applications.
For the upcoming 1,300-plus mile NORRA Mexican 1000, BFGoodrich Team Rennsport will count on the proven performance of Method's 101 Buggy wheel featuring real 6061 aluminum beadlocks. The team's newly restored cars will sport 15" x 4.5" wheels and BFGoodrich 7.00 x 15" Super Traxion tires at the front and 15" x 5" Methods in back surrounded by 33" x 10.50 x 15" BFGoodrich KM2 Mud-Terrain TAs.
Method Wheels was also recently named "Official Wheel" of this week's 8th annual NORRA Mexican 1000.
Regrouping 24 years after its last race in 1993, BFGoodrich Team Rennsport enjoys strong support from BFGoodrich, Fox Racing Shox, Method, MasterCraft, KC HiLites, Eibach, Brian Coats Motorsports, Weddle Industries and Rancho Transmission. Based in Long Beach, California, the team will take on the five-day Mexican 1000 that starts April 23rd in Ensenada, Baja Mexico and finishes 1,300-plus miles later on April 27th near the white sand beaches of San Jose Del Cabo.

BFGoodrich Team Rennsport will rely on the reliability of Method's "101 Buggy Beadlock" wheels for the upcoming 50th Anniversary NORRA Mexican 1000. Not content to leave the race-ready Method's alone, Team Rennsport had the wheels hand polished and treated the 6061 aluminum deadlock rings to an old-school red anodize finish by Embee Performance.
Founded in 1990, the team is comprised of original members that include 2014 Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame (ORHMOF) inductee and veteran racer Marty Fiolka, team co-founder and Baja veteran Ron DeWolf, and expert off-road racing crew chief Paul Perrizo. Also joining the effort is master off-road fabricator and driver Brian Coats.
"It's hard not to like a good comeback story, especially one with historic roots," explained Method Wheels President Kevin Fitzgerald. "We are pleased to help make Marty Fiolka and Team Rennsport's return to Baja a successful one for this year and many NORRA Mexican 1000s to come."
