Jason Coleman is the driver of the #1071 Class 10 car. 2015 was the Coleman Motorsports first full year in the Best in The Desert series. Finishing a solid 3rd place last year they plan to just improve and win races this year.

Jason, thanks for giving us your time. How is your off season going and how is it treating you?

Well, we didn’t take much of an off season this year… the week after the last race of Best in the Desert we turned the car around and went to race the SNORE rage at the river race for more testing. Then we made some more changes and went testing for 2 days in Vegas just before New years… all in all we did over 700 race and test miles in December. So that only left us about 4 weeks to tear the car down and prep it for parker. But in the middle of all that we had the Parker pre run so as you can see our off season was filled with lots of racing and testing!

Dang! So with all of that happening how did you spend your holidays and what did you do?

Christmas we stayed home and just had a blast watching my 2 girls open presents and spend some time with Family. For New Years we were in Vegas for testing like I mentioned and then stayed in town over the holiday and did Christmas/New years with my Wife’s family that lives there.

Oh thats cool! How did your 2015 go? Did it go as planned?

2015 was ok, we ended up with a respectable 3rd in championship points for the year. We were in the Championship hunt down to the last race and even down to the last lap because just about the top 3 or 4 of us just had to beat one another to win the championship. We ran well but we definitely know we can do better hence why we spent so much time testing this off season. I had expected to be on the podium a little more than we were but for one reason or another we were off the mark just a bit here and there. It was our first full season in class 10 and racing Best in the Desert, so my expectations were high but I also knew there would be some learning curve.

You guys had an awesome year! Any big changes for 2016? Any big goals?

We want to WIN and consistently finish on the podium and we will take what we learned from  2015 and from testing to make some minor changes to come back hard this season. Our goal is to win races and the Championship. Every race we go to we prepare to win. Other than the addition of a few great sponsors 2016 will just build on our success from 2015.

Sweet! Anything in the works that we do not know about?

Well, I am always working on something but it’s nothing I can talk about just yet. I like to think outside the box and try new things with the race car or sponsor deals so you’ll just have to wait and see.

Ok, we will be waiting! Is there anything you are stoked about for the upcoming season?

I am really excited about the 2016 BITD season. With the addition of the Laughlin Desert Classic presented by Method Race Wheels, the 2 day Vegas to Reno format and bringing back the Pahrump 250. I think this year is going to have some really great racing and awesome events. Of course the Mint 400 is always a huge event as well. The whole series just has me excited and I am looking forward to making our mark on class 10 this year!

Oh yeah, this year is gonna be a great year for racing. Good luck this year Jason and we are stoked to be apart of your program!
