METHOD 207 FORGED BEADLOCK WHEELS ON THE HONDA PASSPORT BAJA SPEC

The Honda Passport Baja Spec brings together HRC US, Mason Motorsports and Menzies Motorsports for a new approach to desert racing. They'll trust Method's 207 Forged Beadlock wheels to get them to the podium.

Built for the demands of Trophy Truck racing, the 207 combines forged 6061-T6 aluminum construction and beadlock rings with our patented Bead Grip® technology for the ultimate tire security and strength. An aggressive safety hump further helps resist de-beading, while a reinforced inner lip adds strength and durability. It’s a combination built for the punishing terrain the Honda Passport Baja Spec will face in Baja.

A FIRST FOR SCORE’S TOP TROPHY TRUCK CLASS

The Honda Passport Baja Spec will make history as the first hybrid-powered vehicle to compete in the SCORE World Desert Championship’s top Trophy Truck class.

Its powertrain pairs a 2.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 with an advanced 800-volt hybrid-electric system. Together, they produce more than 1,300 horsepower - exceeding the output of the naturally aspirated 9-liter V8 engines powering today’s premier Trophy Trucks.

The V6 is based on the engine used in the Acura ARX-06 GTP prototype, bringing an endurance-racing foundation to an entirely different environment.

FORMULA 1, INDYCAR AND IMSA TECHNOLOGY HEADS TO BAJA

HRC US drew on knowledge from Honda’s Formula 1, IndyCar and IMSA programs to develop the Passport Baja Spec.

The truck’s battery pack uses previous-generation Formula One-style pouch cells inside a lightweight carbon-fiber case. HRC US designed, developed and manufactured the pack in-house at its Southern California headquarters.

The technology extends beyond the powertrain. Dual-axle brake-by-wire, adaptive traction control and AI power deployment work within an integrated vehicle-control platform. HRC’s proprietary software connects powertrain, chassis and energy management, allowing the team to adjust the truck to the driver, course and race conditions.

MASON MOTORSPORTS CHASSIS AND A CARBON-FIBER BODY

Under the Passport-inspired bodywork sits a Mason Motorsports Gen 2 All-Wheel-Drive chassis, adapted specifically for HRC’s hybrid architecture.

A unique rear frame section accommodates the twin-turbo V6 and hybrid components. Component placement and a centrally positioned 145-gallon fuel cell help manage weight distribution as fuel is consumed.

HRC US also used computational fluid dynamics to develop the carbon-fiber body. Deep channels behind the front wheels, integrated exhaust-area fins and carefully directed cooling airflow help manage drag, cooling and high-speed stability.

The result is a truck engineered around the combined demands of power, balance and the changing terrain of desert racing.

BRYCE MENZIES TAKES THE WHEEL

Two-time Baja 1000 winner Bryce Menzies will drive the Honda Passport Baja Spec in partnership with Menzies Motorsports.

The program builds on Honda’s long Baja history, which includes 22 overall Baja 1000 victories on motorcycles and 17 class victories through its four-wheel off-road racing program since 2015. Now, HRC US is setting its sights on an overall Baja 1000 win with a new platform.

FROM SEMA TO THE 2027 BAJA 500

The Honda Passport Baja Spec will make its first public appearance at the 2026 SEMA Show, November 3–6, in HRC’s booth, #24789.

Its competition debut is scheduled for the 2027 Baja 500, June 2–6, ahead of the Baja 1000’s 60th anniversary later in the year.
