Method Race Wheels engineers wheels for some of the world’s most demanding motorsports environments, supplying Bead Grip® Technology-equipped wheels across Ford Racing’s Raptor programs. At the highest level of that partnership is the Ford Racing Raptor T1+, developed by Ford Racing and M-Sport for international rally raid competition. For 2026, the Raptor T1+ ran our 207 T1+ Spec Forged Bead Grip® wheels, providing tire retention at low pressures while complying with FIA T1+ regulations that prohibit mechanical beadlocks. The program earned second and third overall at the 2026 Dakar Rally, followed by a second-place overall finish in the Raptor T1+’s American racing debut at Vegas to Reno.

That race program became the foundation for the 712 Flow Formed Bead Grip®. Derived from the 207 T1+ Spec wheel, the 712 brings lessons learned through the Raptor T1+ program into a wheel engineered specifically for consumer trucks. Its rally-inspired 12 knuckled spoke design, reinforced inner lip and patented Bead Grip® Technology trace directly to its competition lineage, while Flow Formed construction, consumer-specific bolt patterns adapt the concept for everyday truck applications. The result isn't a replica of the T1+ race wheel, but an evolution of it - taking engineering proven through world-class off-road racing and translating it into an accessible performance wheel built for your truck.

Flow forming is an advanced manufacturing process that combines casting with high-pressure forming to create a stronger, lighter wheel. The process begins with a cast wheel blank that is heated and spun while precision rollers apply pressure to the barrel, progressively stretching and compressing the aluminum into its final shape. This process improves the grain structure of the aluminum within the barrel, enhancing its mechanical properties and allowing material to be used more efficiently than in a traditional cast wheel.

The result is an improved strength-to-weight ratio, reducing unnecessary mass without sacrificing load-carrying capability. The 712 Flow Formed Bead Grip® is the lightest 17x8.5 wheel Method has ever produced at our 2,650-lb. standard load rating, reducing rotational and unsprung mass while maintaining strength and durability.
